New Study Confirms Merits of Anterior Approach Hip Replacement Procedure

“…patients treated with [Anterior Approach THR] reported less pain, consumed fewer narcotics, and reported better hip function. No statistical differences in complication rates were detected between [Anterior Approach THR] and [Posterior Approach THR].”

The Journal of Arthroplasty recently noted a study on the merits of anterior approach versus posterior approach hip replacement surgery. The findings as noted in the article were positive regarding the merits of the anterior approach.
